FIRST PENANCE - FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASS 2008

Parents or Guardians of those students who are eligible to enter into our Sacramental Class (Grade 2) for the 2007-2008 school year are reminded that the following are required before a child will be accepted into the First Holy Communion Class in September 2007.

1. Family must be registered and participating in our parish.  Call Fr. Ric at 836-3279 to schedule an appointment in August if you are not formally registered and receiving parish mailings.
2. Child must be Baptized in a Catholic Church.  A Baptismal Certificate is required at CCD registration.
3. Child must be attending mass every weekend with his/her family throughout the year.  This includes summer. They may come forward with their parent at communion time and have their hands crossed over their heart in anticipation of receiving Jesus in Holy Communion next year.
4. Child must have successfully completed a First Grade CCD Class or First grade in a Catholic School.  This is a two-year sacramental program.
5. Child must know his/her basic prayers before the first class in September: Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary and an Act of Contrition.  Contact the CCD Coordinator, Tammy Nuto - BVM or Glenda Evans (SML) if you need copies of these basic prayers.  However, these basic prayers should be in their religion book from last year.

A Second Grade student who does not fulfill the above requirements will be placed in the 1st Grade CCD Class this year and if successfully completed, will be admitted to the 2nd Grade Class in September 2008.  First Penance - First Eucharist is a TWO-YEAR PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION.
